SATurable

SAT stands for me (Samantha Anne Thomas)

Hot, Hot, Heat

Midwestern heat for some… or a time for fun! Cooling off in the Citygarden art park, St. Louis.

Citygarden an urban oasis, where on an 112 degree day, it is no surprise many people are cooling off in the playful spray plaza or the pool under the cascading waterfall. These features show the power of people who transform the space from simply statements of art into a more vibrant public place uniting the movement and interaction of art, people and place. It might be expected that these art objects would be shut down and people deterred from interacting with these spaces, with signs saying, “please stay out” or “no climbing allowed”. Accepting that people needed a place to cool off, this public space saw it could serve a greater purpose by allowing the community to decide the evolution and direction of the public space.

An incredible lively, energizing and vibrant place. Peace and Love,
