A Day of Remembering

“May our souls be washed scarlet and our books red”
-Cynthia Benolken

Nov. 2 – All Souls’ Day.
Commemorating the faithfully departed.
This is to my grandparents, Cynthia and Dick, a set of contrasts.

Cynthia: petite (4’11), full Irish, English teacher
Dick: grande (6’4), full German, Traveler

Together, they raised a large Catholic family and instilled creativity, compassion and thoughtfulness in generations to come.
